I believe in natural home remedies more than some of the traditional scientific cures when possible. I believe natural products can do wonders for your health and beauty.

Ailments can be treated with natural methods to resolve physical and emotional issues in many cases rather than with medication. These are alternatives that can be used for different kinds of treatments and conditions.

Some of the alternatives to prescriptions can be exercise, dance, yoga, massage, essential oils, etc.

Essential oils have been used in the world for centuries as remedies for many different health issues and they are believed to work well with human nature because they are used in their natural state therefore having a natural condition as the common basis for great results. They are easily absorbed by the skin.

Accordingly some of the studied strong properties are fighting bacteria, fungi, virus, etc. and repelling insects and other species. Described below are some of the benefits of using essential oils:

    - Common uses for relaxation are lavender, ylang ylang, rose, geranium, sandalwood. - For mood changes try sage, fennel, jasmine or lavender. - To focus: eucalyptus, basil, peppermint. For pain, sorrow: lavender, sage, eucalyptus, juniper. - Feet corns: one drop each of lemon, oregano, tangerine & myrrh oil. - Inhale eucalyptus or peppermint oil for stuffy sinuses. - To help hair growth use 4 to 6 drops of rosemary, ylang ylang, cedarwood and clary sage in shampoo. - For dandruff use 5 drops of lemon oil, one drop of rosemary or sage, and one drop of lavender oil all mixed in a quart of water.

A lot of information is available on the Internet, companies that sell these oils and books on how to use them so that these alternative methods can be really useful as treatments and beauty products.

Coconut oil has excellent properties and it does not turn into fat in the body unlike other oils like soy or corn. Coconut oil contains an easy fuel that the body burns without converting it into fat called medium-chain triglycerides (MCT). This fuel (MCT) is more easily absorbed and converted to energy quicker, while most other cooking oils and fats contain long-chain triglycerides (LCT) which are usually stored as fat.

For centuries large amounts of coconut have been produced and consumed as food and oil every day in the tropics. The amount of oil consumed in their diet does not increase their weight but on the contrary helps them to be healthy and lean. When they utilize the other widely used common oils they gain weight and other conditions that result from obesity and are challenges in modern everyday life.

Animals fed with coconut oil become lean. This has also been a known fact for people who are in the animal feed business for a long time. When domestic animals are given common vegetable oils, they increase their weight and at the same time produce fatty meat.

Coconut oil is one of the best oils you can directly use on your skin and hair, healing and restoring skin to a younger appearance. It has also been known to give temporary relief to skin problems like rashes, help with people who suffer from yeast infections in the skin, recover slow thyroids by reviving production of extra thyroid hormones, as well as many other skin problems.

Coconut oil softens and smooths your skin, has antioxidant properties that protect the skin from free severe damage and is an excellent massage oil too. It also helps the body absorb other nutrients like Vitamin E more effectively. It is considered one of the best oils for your health.

Can Acne And Pimples Come From What You Don't Eat

The struggle we have of trying to rid ourselves of pimples and acne can be a very frustrating struggle. Especially since they eventually turn into scars that generally become very unsightly over time. This tends to play havoc with our self-esteem.

In addition, our young people, and I’m talking about our sons and daughters, face continual hardship when their acne is really bad.

Depending on how well a child has been nurtured and prepared by their parents, even a mild case of acne can bring a surprising reaction from the child.

Acne is the most diagnosed skin disorder in the United States. Let no one kid you, we are dealing with a monster here. It is a serious problem and we should treat it as such.

Our primary approach to curing ourselves of acne must come from the area of our diet. Did you know that prior to 1950, Canadian Eskimos, up to that point in their history, never had acne?

Is that startling? Well how about this? When so called modern food was introduced into their diet, along came acne. I didn't say that all efforts should be focused toward the diet. I said that our primary approach should come from the area of our diet.

Acne And Pimples Blackheads, whiteheads, pustules, infected sacs and cysts. We've been told countless times about the sebaceous or oil glands and how they get clogged. Then bacteria multiply, and along comes inflammation.

Did you know that some people, a very few though, have acne all their lives? How bad is that? In spite of all that, there is hope! Acne comes because of the things you do, and the things you don't do. Let me explain that.

When you eat too much meat, eggs, denatured flour, and white sugar, something inside of your body has to go awry. On the other hand, when you do not eat the more wholesome foods like fresh vegetables, whole grains and fruits, the body doesn't get enough of the foods that it does need.

How often do you get a bath? So you take good care of your outer body. How often do you bathe your inner body? What am I talking about? No one can wash and bathe the inner body? I beg to differ.

When was the last time that you ate an apple? An apple washes and scrubs the inner body just like Mr. Clean does on the commercial. The old clichù that an apple a day keeps the doctor away may be time-worn, but it’s true.

The action of an apple working on the inside of the body is truly amazing. Eat plenty of fruits. They wash, bathe and cleanse the inside of the body. The more natural the fruit is, the better it is for you. Only eat store bought canned fruits when you absolutely cannot get fresh fruit. Always wash your fruit before eating, and soak dried fruit, prunes and apricots.

As soon as they let their guard down, guess what happens? How about you? Still struggling with your acne and unsightly pimples? There is hope, I firmly believe that.

    Coping With Teen Acne

Acne is one of the major problems teenagers face today. It causes changes in their facial appearance that ranges from quite mild to very severe, and can be hard to treat. In addition to these physical changes, it carries a host of psychological effects that can effect teenagers in many different ways.

Social situations may also become difficult and unwelcome, and teens may 'shy' away from them because they are sensitive about their appearance. So what group ramifications does this condition bring? Hopefully my article will discuss some of those group aspects and what can be done to help teens understand and deal with the condition.

Many people who aren't afflicted by acne do not realize the difficulties connected with this condition, and often accuse their acne-affected friends of being overly sensative about the matter. In more recent years, however, the problems faced by those who are affected by acne are being much more widely addressed, and the group and subconscious effects being examined more deeply than ever.

Acne is every bit as much regarding how you feel as it is about how you see yourself, or appear to others. In a society where so great an importance is placed on appearance and complying to the "average", higher ideals have been set relating to what people do and don't accept. For teenagers this is of crucial importance. Many teens face pressures placed on them by their family and friends, and by what they feel they should be doing. Appearance plays a critical part in how others see them, and how they see themselves.

Recently, when asked, teenagers afflicted with acne said they feel grotesque and sometimes despondent. These feelings can transfer over into adult acne, and aren't normally gender-specific.

It has been said that there is no other condition that causes more strain between a parent and their child, more general feelings of insecurity, and feelings of inferiority.

Understanding the psychological effects associated with acne has become more important, in particular in teenagers where self-esteem is stil being developed. It is hard, however, to see a conclusive way in which to reflect on these factors because of the variations in how acne is caused, its severity, and because it can be difficult to separate the effects of acne with other social dramas many teenagers face.

It is suggested that the ideal way to recognize these effects is just to listen. Find out how your teen is coping with her or his acne and how it makes them feel. Let them understand that they certainly aren't abandoned. Acne is a very common condition among teenagers and adults, and can be caused from a great many things that effect a great many people. Its also beneficial to make it known to them that suffering from acne does not mean they are seen as being unclean or having poor self-hygiene. Bad self-hygiene does not cause acne directly, and acne isn't caused from not washing your face.

Help discover what is causing the acne. When you know its source, and what type it is, you can start treating it. This is the first step to feeling more confident about your looks, and, in turn, about yourself.
